Hyena Tracking

The Brown Hyena Research Project fits GPS collars to brown hyenas to monitor their movements and activity. Brown hyena territories can be up to 3500 km² in size and we are only able to find the animals with the help of the aircraft. Once a hyena is located, a remote data transfer is triggered to download the data that the collar collected since the previous flight. We can also drop the collar off remotely once its battery has expired.
