The Namibian Sperrgebiet desert has been Gino Noli's work place for the past twenty years, initially as a Nature Conservator flying aerial game censuses of the southern Namib. Later he was employed by NAMDEB (then CDM) before becoming a tour operator, Kolmanskop Tour Company, and pioneering ecotours of the Sperrgebiet ghost towns and Bogenfels. Author of "Wüstendiamanten" and “Desert Diamonds” on the diamond history of the Sperrgebiet, Gino has also contributed to aviation publications such as "African Pilot" and remains a passionate bush pilot, flying for the Lüderitz-based Brown Hyena Research Project.
